“Since I joined your live sessions a few months ago, it has been a fascinating experience of the lesser-heard music, your lovely compositions and the South American composers. Now I am a regular viewer, mostly live, on my laptop with headphones to shut out any distraction!
The overall presentation with your unique interpretation of the music complemented by the beautiful and artistically arranged decor, is in one word - uplifting. Evoking many emotions and sometimes a feeling beyond words.
What stands out for me is your wonderfully worded explanation bringing about a more perceptive listening experience and an awareness of the meaning and picture behind the music. Best illustrated by the glorious music of The Sunken Cathedral!
Your three special guests add to the charm!
Thank you to you and Barry for continuing to bring us beautiful music!

Dear Music Revival Online Supporters,
What a stressful week last week was! Despite much unrest and chaos in our KZN region (with much of it taking place on our doorstep) we managed to persevere and produced two music live-streams of consoling, and calming music!
The Wednesday session proved to be a very difficult performance for me! (see above). The informative session of the music of Debussy on Saturday 17 July has been very popular.
We are working continuously to contribute a valuable service to the broader community!

The year is flying by and we plan to continue with our two livestreams every week. Winter is upon us and the 6.00pm sessions offer a great opportunity to relax, be joined by a homely livestream, share with the online community, and chance to enjoy some delicious music!
Please keep supporting our effort to bring a unique and fantastic music production direct to you, and to a wider audience.
Even though I have two live concerts these next weeks in Cape Town and Pretoria (see below for more) the remainder of my regular monthly circuit (apart from one venue) is still closed to the possibility of staging my own performances. With the third wave and winter coming I'm now even more reluctant to encourage audiences to gather in confined spaces. I've also found, from the few public concerts I have staged, that audiences are small and only a few are venturing out to enjoy any live performances. And I understand why!
We are forging ahead with our online programme, creating new and fresh programmes for you every week! If you are viewing these livestreams please consider donating the equivalent of a ticket purchase (R100) every time you view a new livestream even though it is freely available.

Live concerts in Cape Town and Pretoria
As a post-grad student at UCT I had the wonderful experience of hearing many renowned international musicians, including a number of inspiring pianists, perform in the Cape Town Concert Series presented at the Baxter Theatre. Imagine my delight that they have now invited me to play a recital in their current series. Super excited to be playing in the magnificent venue and on a wonderful Steinway & Sons piano prepared for the concert by Ian Burgess-Simpson Pianos ! Thank you CapeTown Concert Series!
Saturday 29 May at 11h00: an hour-long concert due to current restrictions.
Book at WEBTICKETS
One of the most creative, hard working and brilliant versatile pianists I know is fellow Steinway Artist Charl du Plessis. I've been able to organise a few small concerts for Charl in programmes I present in Franschhoek and at the Hilton Festival and we often chat about the perils of being an independent and freelance classical concert entrepreneur. I am honoured that Charl has now invited me to play in a new festival of concerts he is curating at the Atterbury Theatre, Pretoria. It is another fantastic and new Steinway & Sons piano I look forward to playing on! I will also be working with a number of young pianists and discussing activities around freelance music work and my livestream programme over the past year at a masterclass the next day.
