Livestreams ~ In August Concerts

Monday 15 August 2022

Dear Music Revival Supporters,

Thank you to those who continue to support my live-stream programme.  On Wednesday 10 August I presented a selection of my own original compositions 'live' online at 7:00 pm. Our Concert Classics had an epic programme on Saturday 6 August ! You will find both at my YouTube channel.

CONCERTS at  CASA MEXICANA
We are working hard to further enhance the experience at the venue with the garden under renovation leading to an Open Gardens Weekend in November. Plus there is currently much  interest with the massive array of orchids currently blooming.  (See my website for more.) This month we offer an extra Sunday afternoon performance of popular highlights, the first  afternoon concert in many years! We will also be  presenting guest caterers and other dinner evenings at the venue so please watch out for extra events!

FOUR FREE LIVE-STREAMS MONTHLY & LIVE CONCERTS
I will be continuing with only four live-streams and growing the limited number of live concerts at the end of the month.  We are trying to resume the concerts at Ballito and Kloof as soon as possible! Our 'end-of-the-month' concert at the Amber on Wednesday 24 August offers residents a unique opportunity to request the programme selection!

Please keep track of my website www.musicrevival.co.za  for additional new concerts and changes to our online presence.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Best wishes,
Christopher Duigan

Monday 30 May 2022

Dear Friends,

Thank you to those who continue to support my live-stream programme. There are a few changes coming up which have been made following consultation with our major donors and regular supporters.

ONLY FOUR FREE LIVE-STREAMS in JUNE
I will be continuing the live-streams on a 'free to view' basis in June but will present only one a week, on alternate Wednesdays and Saturdays ie 1st and 3rd Wednesday and 2nd and 4th Saturday. These will be live on 1, 11, 15 & 25 June at 7:00 pm. Of course you can view these at any time after that at my YouTube channel!

LIVE CONCERTS
A limited number of live concerts will be presented at the end of the month. In June I will be a focussing on the dramatic Liszt 'Dante' Sonata and music by Mozart and Ravel. These concerts will take place at the Tatham Art Gallery (26 June) and at my home (24 June).

Concerts in Ballito, Durban and Kloof will not be resuming. I am very cautious about travelling on the N2 and N3 late at night and our venue in Ballito does not seem to be available on Sundays. Our beautiful home venue in Musgrave Rd is no longer available, and St Agnes in Kloof are still reluctant to host external events for various reasons. The piano I invested in for St Agnes Concerts is up for sale. Once there are changes in the set-up, or venue availability, these concerts may be re-considered in the future.

{In general it would seem many are reluctant to venture out and sit for periods of time, often in confined spaces. I also have the feeling many of us have just got used to being at home, and I totally understand!}

PAID / GATED PRESENTATIONS
Additional 'behind the scenes', detailed discussion sessions (something that many have asked for), plus formal concert presentations, will be available on a pay per view system i.e. a fee per session will be required to see them. These should start later in the month.

FREE LIVE STREAMS SUPPORT- BUSINESS SPONSORS, SUPPORTERS and VIEWERS
Business sponsors are invited to support the total production costs of a session at R5000 to retain the current 'free to view' status. Sponsors will enjoy accreditation and branding possibilities on screen throughout the session, on social media promotions, as well as have input on content choices.

Viewers have an opportunity to be involved and credited in the live-stream programme by supporting with programme choice, requests or a dedication. A donation amount of R1 500 will allow you to request a selection of up to three short items, or one major work. Your name will be linked to this session as a supporter, your dedication and reasons for requesting and supporting (if preferred) read out and name listed on screen. This can be done anonymously too, or in memory of another. Please email me at chris@musicrevival.co.za if you wish to know more.

General viewers are asked to continue to donate a suggested R100 per session viewed per device. A monthly support of R300 to R400 from our regular viewers will go a long way to making and keeping the live stream programme viable!

WHATSAPP
If you would like to receive occasional updates on our events, live and online, via WhatsApp please send a WhatsApp to me at 083 417 4473. Include your region or the venue you attend. Remember you must add and save this number to your contacts. If you don't you will not receive the broadcast messages.

Christopher Duigan

Dear Friends,

Thank you to those who have continued to contribute in the last month with financial support for my live-stream programme.

Please support our efforts to bring these lives streams to a greater public in these uncertain times. You may want to do this if you feel we are making a valuable contribution. Under current circumstances intimate indoor gatherings are either limited or often not viable due to public apprehensions, for obvious reasons. Or you may want to support because you are enjoying watching them regularly, or occasionally, and value the possibility!

LIVE STREAMS - SUPPORTERS
I am offering viewers an opportunity to be involved and credited in the live-stream programme by supporting with programme choice, requests or a dedication. A donation amount of R1 500 will allow you to request a selection of up to three short items, or one major work. Your name will be linked to this session as a supporter, your dedication and reasons for requesting and supporting (if preferred) read out and name listed on screen. This can be done anonymously too, or in memory of another. Major donors who have been donating regularly will be contacted shortly to be offered this opportunity, thanking you for your support. Please email me at chris@musicrevival.co.za if you wish to know more.

Saturday 16 April 2022

Dear Friends,

Thank you to those who have continued to support me financially in the last month despite not being present online with my live-streams. Thank you also to those who have sent messages of support and condolences following the death of may partner Barry, early last month.

I am obviously in an uncertain situation now, not only regarding numerous aspects of my immediate future, but also with regard to the future plans of my work production which is already thrown into disarray under lockdown.

LIVE STREAMS
I will be resuming the live-streams, as before, from next week Wednesday 20 April. Looking ahead there will be changes in the weeks coming. Some, or all, of the live streams will be gated i.e. a fee per session or a monthly membership will be required to see them. While I have been fortunate to enjoy the support of donors, as well as Barry's financial and production support, especially in recent months, this has now fallen away, and the only way to continue with this project is for them to be paid for in full. Out of interest our recent sessions were viewed regularly by 200 to 300 viewers but our monthly donors now stand at less than 50.

FREE LIVE STREAM - SPONSORS
I am seeking business and individual sponsors who would be willing to collaborate by supporting the total production costs of Wednesday's PIANO HOUR sessions. This would allow us to retain the current 'free to view' status. Sponsors will enjoy accreditation and branding possibilities on screen, on social media, as well as have input on content choices. I am also looking at ways of making these Wednesday sessions more interactive and varied. Please email me at chris@musicrevival.co.za if you wish to know more.

LIVE CONCERTS
A series of live concerts will be presented at the end of this month. Despite lockdown being lifted, gatherings at venues are still limited. But it is now viable to present live music concerts at the Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg and Ambers in Howick (for those that are able to attend). There will also be concerts at my home venue, albeit with limited numbers which will affect the pricing. This follows numerous requests for the venue to be opened to our audience once again.

WHATSAPP
Our WhatsApp Music Revival number fell dormant during lockdown and was discontinued due my office iPhone being obsolete. Good news - the platform is now active again! If you would like to receive occasional updates on our events, live and online, please send a WhatsApp to me at 083 417 4473. Include your region or the venue you attend. Remember you must add and save this number to your contacts. If you don't you will not receive the encrypted broadcast messages.

Please keep track of my website for additional new concerts and changes to our online presence.

Thank you for your ongoing support. Please look after yourselves, and stay well. And have a Happy Easter Weekend!

Best wishes,
Christopher Duigan
